![]() ![]() I then release the mouse button where I want the field to settle. Notice I get a helpful arrow indicating where the column is about to be placed. I simply open the form in design view, click the column of the table I want to rearrange (such as moving to the left), and simply drag it to the left. I am assuming you are referring to rearranging fields for tables in design view within Base USING A FORM. I hope it is this easy for you on the Mac environment. I know I am using a different environment than you (OOo 3.0 on Linux), but this is how I do it. I have read these previous threads, but they didn't totally address my issue (or explain the loss of information / changes on save): I suspect there is a more effective way to achieve what I want using SQL, but I (and most other casual users) don't really have time to learn that set of skills. Creating a new view with the desired order is useful for displaying the data, but doesn't help me when scrolling through a list of fields in the Relationship view to make the proper connections. ![]() I understand that field order is irrelevant to the database itself, but the order is very relevant to me as a user to make sense of relationships and overall database structure. ![]() Is there a simple way to rearrange table fields, or where can I suggest this as a feature to develop and stabilize? I have epxerienced these behaviours in OpenOffice 3.0, and 2.4 (the last version before 3.0 running under X11) on Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 AND Leopard 10.5.5 (I use OpenOffice on 2 computers, one at work, one at home).ΔΆ. Often, when I hit "save", all seems well, until I close the table design view window, then re-open it to find that the changes were not made, or even worse, the order has changed to something different or fields have disappeared.Occasionally, when I hit "save", the field order spontaneously changes, and sometimes fields disappear!.While in design view for any Table in a database, I have tried cutting and pasting fields to get the desired order, however, I have noticed the following disturbing behaviours: I have been struggling with re-ordering fields for tables in design view within Base, and have ended up with 2 questions. ![]()
